Dementia is the sixth highest cause of death in the United States, but few people truly understand what their loved ones are going through as they are afflicted by the disease. Four young women with family members who have some form of dementia decided to find out through the Virtual Dementia Experience, a 10-minute simulation of what dementia really feels like. Two family caregivers turned advocates are their "tour guides."
